The Windows Start menu is a fast and convenient way of accessing features and applications. Still, there are situations in which the start menu is very crowded and it's really difficult to find a certain application. In this situation, you could organize each item separately, which can take a lot of time and effort, or you can just use the SMOz application, a Windows program which allows you to easily and quickly organize start menu items just the way you like it.

Installing SMOz is not a problem, as the process is easy to complete and as soon as it's over, the user will be presented with a practical interface, in which he will see all the start menu items and will be able to rename, remove or move each of them. What's more, start menu shortcuts can be organized in several categories, according to their types, allowing the user to find a certain application or Windows feature much easier than before.

What's more, SMOz includes several templates, which can automatically detect the installed applications and can place each of them in the right category, completely automatically. Thus, the user will not need to access each program separately and view its type in order to move its shortcut in the correct category. After modifying the start menu settings, one will be able to apply them just by clicking on the green button in the graphical toolbar of SMOz. There is no need to restart the computer in order for the settings to take place.

The program's configuration can be saved as a file and can be re-imported into the program's interface in case SMOz needs to be re-installed or in case there are multiple users accessing the computer and each of them has a preferred start menu layout.

Pros

It allows you to easily modify start menu items and organize each of them in several categories. Besides that, there are several templates available, which can automatically place program shortcuts in the right categories. Furthermore, the program's configuration can be exported to a file and reused later on.

Cons

The program requires granting full rights to the start menu folder in Windows 7 in order to apply the changes. SMOz allows you to easily modify start menu shortcuts and place them in several categories, for making them much easier to find.
